Breakathon

Once a year, Kenseido teams up with the Samm Shelter to raise money to help the homeless and the Kenseido Scholarship Fund. The boards we break symbolize smashing the obstacles between the people Samm Shelter helps and their dreams, as well as the obstacles in the path of anyone involved. The event is sponsored by the generous donations of local businesses, as well as anyone who wants to help the cause. Last year we raised $14000, for a total of $19000 overall! Next year hopefully we can raise even more!

Activities at the event include:

Lots of board breaking by all levels of students at Kenseido

Food, drink, and refreshments for everyone

Lots of fun for everyone watching and participating

Awards presentations for particularly generous sponsors

Presentation of the fundraiser check
